The increased cost of health care, gas and food makes it hard to balance a budget on a fixed income – and I have first-hand experience at that. I heard your concern regarding health care – that is why I introduced and passed legislation that requires insurance companies to guarantee payment of claims after they have pre-authorized your procedure.
Government has to become as efficient, accessible and transparent as possible. You have my word I will do my best to have our state government live within our means and to become more open and accountable to you.
As a retired para-educator, I know what is needed in the classroom for our grandchildren. Because resources are scarce, we need to prioritize education funding. We have to continue to provide our teachers with the tools they need. I will work hard to allow our local schools the flexibility to make necessary classroom decisions at the local level.
