2016 Session Has Begun!!!

Some Important bills I am working on:

Public Notice of Court Recording

SB42: This is an important piece of legislation that will help to create more transparency within our court system. The law would require courtrooms to inform those present that they are being recorded audibly and visually.

Public Safety Emergency Management Amendments

SB57: I am very excited about this bill because it will provide new tools for Utah in the case of a disaster. By working with the postal service, our state can be the first to implement an innovative approach to emergency preparedness. This bill lays the groundwork for creating a system where our state can use postal workers to help when disaster strikes.

Hot Bills On the Hill:

  • SB19 Phased Retirement for State Workers
  • SB65 Internet Sales Tax
  • SB80 Infrastructure Funding Amendments
  • SB73 Medical Marijuana
  • SJR2 Amendment to repeal the 17th Amendment
  • HB202 Hygiene Tax Act
