Senator Karen Mayne is a life-long resident of the West side of Salt Lake Valley. She was married to the late Senator Ed Mayne. Upon his death in 2007 she was appointed to his senate seat, which she has been elected to twice in 2008 and 2010. She has served as Assistant Minority Whip and currently serves as the Senate Minority Whip.
She has been active in PTA, local baseball and football organizations, and numerous political and community activities. Karen is the proud mother of two children, Paul (Jana) and Jamie (Trevor), and a proud grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren.
